Is God Just?

In Genesis after Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit and God asks Adam why he ate it, Adam blames Eve even though he is just as guilty. In addition, as they didn't know the difference between good and evil before they ate it, how would they know it was evil to disobey God?
And why would God put them through all this if God knew in advance that they would fail the test?
When Cain killed Abel, not only did God already know that he would kill Abel, God didn't even punish Cain. Instead, he gave Cain a sign so no one would hurt him and allowed him to marry and raise children, of whom we are supposed to all be descendents of.

(Genesis 27:18-24, 28:14-15) Jacob, who cheated his brother Esau of his birthright, is given special blessings by God.

(Ezekiel 20:25-26) “Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live . . . to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.”
