God Accepts Human Sacrifices

     There are many cases of human sacrifice in the Old Testament that one doesn't hear about at the pulpit. One is when Moses orders him men to kill everyone except the virgins. Ten percent of them were sacrificed to God. I guess God likes the smell of burnt virgins.

(Exodus 22:29) “Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.”
NOTE: I'm glad I wasn't born back then. I was the first born in my family.

(Judges 11:30-40) Jephthah offers up his daughter as a burnt sacrifice for winning a battle against the Ammonites.

(II Samuel 21:1-9) God makes a famine and tells David the reason for it is that Saul massacred the Gibeonites who were a remnant of the Amorites who God told Saul to massacre. So to stop the famine, David had 7 of Saul's descendents sacrificed by the Gibeonites to appease them. Then God stopped the famine. Of course the real reason was that David wanted to get rid of any descendents of Saul who might have a claim to his throne.

(Ezekiel 20:25-26) “Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not love;
     “And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.”
NOTE: Passing through the fire“ is an euphemism for burnt human sacrifice and “opening the womb“ means the first one out of the womb or the first born
.

(Leviticus 27:28-29) . . . both man and beast. . . every devoted thing is the most holy unto the LORD.
     None devoted . . . shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death.”

(Psalms 116:15) “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
