Is God Cruel and Degrading

(Hosea 13:16) "Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fail by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with children shall be ripped up."

(Exodus 12:12, 29-30 [see also 11:3-6]) "For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and I will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute Judgment: I am the LORD . . .
"And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon: and all the firstborn of cattle."
NOTE: Why did he punish the cattle?

(Peor.Numbers 25:4-4) "And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, slay ye every one of his men that were joined unto Baal-
NOTE: Baal-Peor was a god of the Moabites.

(Isaiah 13:16) "Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished."

(Leviticus 26:21-22) "And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me: I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. I will also send wild beats among you, which shall rob you of your children . . . "

(Isaiah 20:2-3) "At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amos, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
"And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years . . .)

(Jeremiah 48:10) Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and curseth be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.)
