Was Jesus Born from a Virgin

(Isaiah 7:14) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

It's not necessarily so. The word “virgin” was mistranslated on purpose in the King James version to justify Jesus' virgin birth. The real meaning of “virgin” is “young woman.” Most other translations have it correct but people still think it was meant “virgin.”
If you read further, you will find that the child was Isaiah's.
The author of Matthew was a fanatic about finding verses in the Old Testament and trying to make them fit to back up his belief that Jesus' coming was foretold. None of the other gospels have Jesus being born of a virgin. It was common in those days for all important people to be born of virgins.
